I use alot of correction layers for b/w adjustment and contrast adjustment on the warframe itself. Then I use a brush to mask out a small particle frag on where I want the end result to go. Add a glow to the fragzone (in this case, a long pale yellow line that was set to "screen" or "add", can't remember), and import flare stock (which is duplicated, one set to screen, the other to add @ 50% opacity). Then import the particles below the flare stock to make it look like his body parts are being desintegrated.
Then lots of fidgeting to get it right.
